RIVALS 2.3.0 Patch Notes
We released RIVALS 2.3.0!
PATCH NOTES RIVALS 2.3.0
With this release we fixed bugs, changed the balancing of rewards and added an account login system. The latter allows us to make a big announcement:
We will not delete your progress at the end of the beta!
That said, the beta is not over yet. There are still more things to add, balance and polish as well as some bugs to hunt. We’ll take a short Christmas break and then continue with full steam!
New Feature – Account Login
You can now link your game progress to an account, which allows you to switch devices without losing anything.
You can access the login via the shop and the game settings. On a new device you have to play through the first steps of the tutorial until you can access the shop or settings. From there you can switch to your saved progress.
However, if you decide to switch to a previously stored progress on a new device, you will forever lose whatever progress you’ve made on that new device in the meantime. Also, if you log in on a new device and overwrite the remotely stored progress, you will need access to your old device that still has a local copy on that progress if you ever want to go back. Overwriting a stored progress with a new profile is irrevocable!
Balancing Changes
After all the new features we added we now will focus to tie everything together in the balancing.
As a first step we wanted to give tournaments and scrim matches their distinct and more realistic roles in your team’s progression: Tournaments should give you Cash and Fame while scrim matches are especially useful for preparation and training:
- Some Tournaments now have different rewards and will give you Cash and Fame instead
- We added weekend tournaments who have higher ticket costs but also higher rewards
- Tournament Cash and Fame rewards can be improved with the Conference Room
- Changed scrim match rewards – we removed most of the Cash rewards from it in exchange for more training plans and other goodies
They are still your way to go to improve your team play bonus
- You can find tournament tickets more often in the scrim match rewards (especially after you upgraded your Analytics Room to level 5 or higher)
- For the time being, we added Tournament ticket packages to the shop. Grab them while you can!
In addition, we found that Fame was to scarce in the earlier levels, locking you out from all the cool improvement options for too long. We wanted a more steady flow of fame income in the early levels while keeping streamers and tournaments still as attractive options to progress faster.
- You’ll gain more fame now from your Merchandise in the Corporate screen
- 3 of your 9 daily tasks will now give you fame rewards
- In exchange you’ll get a bit less fame from streamers and playing tournament matches (but you can get fame now as tournament prizes, see above)
Furthermore, we had a look at the power progression through training plans and gaming house upgrades and had to nerf and smooth out some parts of it:
- Higher rarity tactic training plans now have a variable outcome
- We changed specialized mechanics and personality training plans in the following aspects:
o We improved Rookie plans and nerfed Legendary plans, aligning Pro and Star plans in the middle
o They now start at 30 Condition cost
o They will now give also random attribute bonuses, but have a higher chance to improve one specific one
We did this to prevent uber focused players, which are unrealistic and not particular useful in the match mechanics
- The Living room will now reduce the condition cost of all training plans
- We increased the Cash cost of mid level Gaming House upgrades
- We changed the order of some Gaming House unlocks for a better experience between level 15 and 20
Bugfixes:
- You can see your tactic level (again) – we added it back to the tactic details screen and also added an overview of your current levels to the tactic training menu
- Improving your Training Facility does not increase the levels gained by your tactics training anymore
- It was never intended to work like this
- The training plans are properly sorted again
- The hunt tactic displays the correct stat everywhere
- Scrim match opponents will now follow the correct tactic patterns again
- Scrim opponents won’t ban the same champion twice anymore
- Errors in the match result screen were fixed – no more double monsters, double towers and no reserve players being called out for their bad performance (duh)
- The player profile necks graphics are correct again – no more creepy attached heads
- Fixed some fringe crash bugs as well as text and localization issues
Happy Holidays!
